How reliable are Nigerian Websites…
I took a stroll to my recharge card vendor to purchase a Multilinks 500 card to load on my phone so that I can connect to the Internet. At the spot, a discussion started about the acquisition of Multilinks by Telkom Ltd, I said that Telkom acquired 51% of Multilinks. I suspected I was wrong, but since I seemed like the most educated on the issue, they let it go.
Who Am I

Entrpeneur to Employee
I studied Robert Kiyosaki’s Cash Flow Quadrant, and I am quite impressed by it. I have took the advice strongly and had was working towards placing myself within the 4 quadrants – The Employee, The Self Employed, The Business Owner and The Investor. I was in the Self Employed quadrant and recently joined the Investor quadrant. I needed to put myself in the Business Owner quadrant and improve my position in the Investor quadrant.
I am a better investor. I am also in the Employee quadrant. Through this post, I will tell you how I became an employee for one of the biggest information technology companies in Nigeria.
On a lovely Monday, I received a call from a friend (Lagos State webmaster), asking if I was interested in paid employee. “My perfect chance to re-explore the employee quadrant”. I accepted. I went for the interview the following Wednesday.
It was good. Went for a follow-up interview with the MD on the Thursday of the following week. Met with the accountant on Monday and started that Monday. Good package. Good environment. For now, perfect environment to cultivate employee characteristics.
Ok, for now, I am a web application developer with Soft Alliance and Resources Ltd.
Oh, we need an Oracle DBA, if you are interested, send me a mail and I will arrange an interview.
Yarns – the voice of Nairaland
Sometime ago (a long while ago), I started a thread on Nairaland, proposing the production of a magazine made of the contents of the forum. I even had the time on my hands to design a cover for the proposed magazine.
I asked for publishers in the house to produce and give me a copy. I got no replies. Here is the thread.
A post about Paintings
The title says it all (how cliche)
Sometime ago, I helped a friend of mine send some of his works to a client of his. I was going through my flickr collected and I came across them again. Here is the link to the pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62141885@N00/sets/72157602192733683/

Call Me Back. I’ll Blog You.

I had to change my battery when I realised it had reached it’s end of life, under 6 months. Why? The people listed in this article of course. Flashers. Bippiners. Whatever you call them.
Some folks “flash” you and don’t even give you a chance to call them back. Imagine 40 flashes within a 10 minute period. Some people are desperate.
MTN went a step forward and introduced a “Call Me Back” system, but failed to promote it properly. Imagine my dismay at seeing a “Call Me Back. I Love You” on my woman’s phone. Luckily, I knew the person who sent the call back. A similar event happens virtually every week with a friend of mine. He keeps sending “Call Me Back. I Miss You”, “Call Me Back. I Love You”. And no, I dont miss him neither do I love him. Its nothing personal, just business.
The most appropriate situation was one time, my younger brother and I switched phones, I was out and he had to show his phone to his mum, I received a “Call Me Back. Its an Emergency”
Its a “House”, for Chrissake :)

This article talks about people complaining to the US Navy about a building shaped like a swastika. The comment I love in the article “But people really seem to have the time on their hands“
Revenge of the Cube Rat
Started on Monday. Cube rat by Friday. Officially, I am now a cube rat. Got my cubicle. After all my days of dissing people doomed to communing within the confines of square holes, I am suddenly on the other side.
The force is strong.
My First Day as a 9 to 5
After a brief entrepreneurial stint, lasting approximately 1 year, I have found myself back in the confines of a corporate entity. Post: Webmaster/Web Application Developer. Remuneration is nice. People I am familiar with, after all, I have been seeing most of them during my entrepreneurial sojourn.
