Xtian Hypocrisy
I had a discussion with a friend over the weekend, concerning christians and movies. Bone of contention: a pornographic movie laying on my brother’s bed (dropped there by me while rearranging my room, and yes the movie is mine). Transcript (as much as I remember)
Him: this kind of movies are not good for you
Me: why?
Him: they corrupt your soul and mind
Me: how?
Him: because, after watching them, you get feelings which you should not have
Me: urges to have sex?
Him: yes.
Me: ok, I agree, but what of horror movies
Him: they are still ok, not as bad as porn
Me: so a porn provides a greater sin than action/horror/war/*whatever* kind of films
Him: i did not say so
Me: so, a pornographic movie corrupts your soul, yet a horror movie (obviously showing off the devil’s power) does not corrupt your soul
Him: no not really, but its still easier to watch a horror movie than a porno
Me: and how is that? prove it.
Him: do you know how many women get raped in Africa daily?
Me: do you know how many people get shot in America because someone watched an action movie?
Him: but that’s them, we are us.
Me: so in your view, action and horror films are good for us blacks and porn is good for whites?
Him: do you have that cash to lend me or not?
Obviously, end of discussion. Got me thinking, its alright to watch an action/sci-fi/war/horror flick, yet a pornographic movie is an abomination. Who are we kidding?
Him: well, different people have different ways of handling things they see and hear
Me: which means

Its not hypocirisy. It wasn’t a good comparison, i.e. horror against porn. How very silly! Porn isn’t good! Forget christianity for once, this is coming from a muslim. PORN is shallow cos it fills your mind with vile stuff! Is that your idea of good entertainment? It’s just sicko I tell u! Why not use your mind for more creative things and your time for more usefulness rather than waste it watching womens private parts? if you want porn, get married and enjoy your wife! Ewww. I’m so disgusted that you’ll come her and try to make a case for something so disgusting as this. YUCK!
I am not advocating for porn, its just that my friend argued for any other movie but porn. My question, is there any sin greater other sins in the presence of God. If not, why is ok to watch horror but not porn?
I don’t pornography either! - I believe is kills your self-esteem besides its a taboo for that matter!
Well I was amazed to hear that you even back the watching of pornography! — Well, I don’t even watch TV though sometimes I get convicted on the internet by pop-up adds on serial cracking sites!
